FNJ TO PROTEST PM REMARKS Kathmandu, 9 Jan.:: The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has decided to form a high-level team to monitor any irregularities in the prosecution of the alleged murderers of journalist Dekendra Raj Thapa, and the increasing feeling of insecurity among the journalists in Dailekh, RSS reports.. An emergency meeting of the central executive committee of the FNJ here on Wednesday also demanded that the government constitute a high-level judicial commission to investigate the murders of journalists right from Krishnasen Icchuk to Yadav Poudel. In the past decade alone, 33 journalists have been killed while three have been disappeared, according to the Federation. The meeting today also expressed serious concern over the remarks of the Prime Minister that he expressed on Tuesday, in a way to influence the investigation and prosecution of the journalist Thapa´s murder case. The FNJ has also decided to hold a nationwide protest marking the anniversary of the murder of journalist Uma Singh, and with the objective of exerting pressure on the government to initiate legal action against those involved in the murder and forced disappearances of journalists in the country Nnnn
