Kathmandu, 10 Jan.: Delegates at the CPN Maoist general convention
Thursday were divided into 21 groups to conduct discussions on papers presented at the
meet.or holding deliberation on the political dossier presented by party Chairman Mohan Baidhya.
Chairman Mohan Baidhya presented a political report for approval.
Secretary Dev Prasad Gurung presented a party statute
addressed the closed session and commented on the party statute.
The council of chairpersons with Hitman Shakya, Jayapuri Gharti, Tilak Pariyar, Mausam Limbu and Shiva Ram Yadav was formed.
The meeting started late because of differences on representation.

BIOMTRIC LIST HAS 10.9 MILLION VOTERS
Kathmandu, 10 Jan.: The Election Commission has developed a biometric voters' list with 10.9 million eligible voters, who have so far registered at the Commission along with finger print and a photograph, RSS reports..
This was disclosed at a press conference organised by Officiating Chief Election Commissioner Dolakh Bahadur Gurung and Commissioner Dr Ayodhi Prasad Yadav, who retired after six years in the Commission on Thursday.
At the programme, the Commissioners said that the during the six-year period the Commission was able to hold the CA elections while also initiating long-term reforms for institutional development and electoral management based on the Strategic Plan 2065.
They also said that the Commission was making internal preparations for the next CA elections announced by the government including making estimates of the human resource, materials, budget and other sources required for holding the election and developing a 120-day integrated action plan for the elections.
On the occasion, Officiating CEC Gurung said 11 rules have been amended for day to day operations of the Commission including for the enforcement of the annual action plan, in the absence of any Commissioner effective tomorrow.
He also pointed out the need for amendment in the legislation for appointments of new commissioners and to hold the next elections.
Commissioner Dr Yadav said that the voter registration should continue in the days to come and added that with necessary laws in place the Nepali citizens in 108 countries around the world

SENTENCED TO JAIL TERM FOR SELLING DAUGHTER
Kathmandu, 10 Jan.:The District Court, Sindhupalchowk, has slapped 11 years' jail sentence to a person on the charge of selling own daughter
to a brothel, RSS reports from Chautara..
The District Court also handed down 10 years' jail sentence to another accused.
A single bench of district judge, Anantaraj Dumre, gave the verdict against Lok Bahadur Ghale of Duwachour in the district, father of the woman, and another person Harka Bahadur Tamang, on the charge of selling the woman to a brothel in India.
