Om Prasad Shrestha of Rampur-1 of Palpa confessed killing Sonu Shrestha. nnnn UML CALLS FOR MORE PROTESTS Kathmandu, 24 Jan.: The standing committee meeting of the CPN-UML held today has directed the party cadres to organise anti-government protests across the country against the police suppression in the peaceful demonstrations organised by the opposition parties in Dailekh on Wednesday, RSS reports.. The opposition UML also expressed its high respect the struggle launched by the people of Dailekh against totalitarian and for justice. The meeting also concluded that people's protest in Dailekh was retaliated by the directive of Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai. Issuing a press statement, party secretary Bishnu Poudel has said that hundreds of YCL cadres ferried from Surkhet and police personnel under the command of Superintendent of Police Mohan Raj Joshi attacked the anti-government protestors. The UML has also wished for speedy recovery of party district chairman Amar Bahadur Thapa who was injured in the incident. nnnn
