INDEFINITE CURFEW CLAMPED ON RAMPUR, PALPA
Kathmandu, 20 Jan. An indefinite curfew was slapped on Rampur in Palpa
Sunday after violent clashed between locals and police following the discovery of a woman who had gone missing.
Police fired teargas shells and bullets in the air to control a mob injuring a
woman.
The body of Sanu Shrestha,27, of Rampur was found Saturdayt by unday.
Locals demanded an investigation into the murder case Shrestha.
At least 30 persons were injured, including 20 policemen.
A police post was attacked
in the demonstration in the district demanding fair investigation into the incident.
The body of Sanu Shrestha of Rampur, Palpa who had gone missing for months was found on Saturday on Kali Gandaki river.
The body was stuffed in a sack.

Kathmandu, 20 Jan.: UCPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said the responsibility of protecting the achievements attained through struggles with many sacrifices has now fallen upon the shoulders of the
Nepali people, RSS reports.
Addressing a programme organised on the occasion of Newa Unity Day in the capital on Sunday, Dahal said conspiracies were being hatched against the people´s desire for change and urged the people to be sensitive towards that end.
Only federalism with identity and constitution with federalism could ensure the rights of suppressed classes, he said.
Similarly, Chairman of Newa Rastriya Party and Environment Minister Dr Keshabman Shakya said although 417 Constituent Assembly members out of 601 were univocal in favour of federalism with guarantee of identity, the CA was dissolved due to those people who were against federalism.
Nepali Congress central member Narhari Acharya said word ´Nepal´ was made for the identity of Newar Community. "Overall identity of Nepal which is a home of different castes and communities has started to be forgotten", he said.
Federalism without any ethnic conflict but with guarantee of identity was the need of the country, he added.
Chairman of Sanghiya Samajbadi Party Ashok Rai stressed that political impasse could be ended only through a constitutional way, adding that the reinstatement of the Constituent Assembly was the sole and best way to break the present political and constitutional deadlock.
Likewise, CPN (UML) leader Jeevaram Shrestha said geographical specification of Nepal should be considered while federating the country.
Newa Autonomous State Manka Council Kirtipur Chairperson Panchalal Maharjan said the entire Newar community should unite to ensure its ethnic identity.
