The move came amid clashes between NC,-UML and UCPN-Maoist. Activists .are fighting over finances for a development fund project Sindhulimadi was also disturbed over continued public protests following the death in a clash this week at district jail. nnnn NO POSSIBILITY OF EARLY WINTER RAIN Kathmandu, 5 Jan.: Change in the weather following a long spell of dryness has led to increasing cold in various parts of the country including the Capital for the past few days. RSS reports. The climate this season has experienced some changes as the expected rainfall has not taken place so far, says meteorologist Rajendra Shrestha. "Due to the long spell of dryness in the country this situation is not likely to change soon", he added. Comparatively the districts in the Tarai are experiencing climate change, with the western Tarai hit by dense fog while the weather remains somewhat clear in the eastern and mid-Tarai, according to Shrestha. Though Kathmandu valley is yet to experience fog, chilliness has increased extensively. Except for the parts in western Tarai, other parts of the country have so far been experience clear sunlight during the day despite the increasing cold in the early morning. Meteorologist Shrestha says that increasing draught of late has had an adverse impact on agriculture, drinking water, hydropower generation as well as on the climate. There is still no possibility of rain in the mid and eastern hilly region of the country including the capital for few more days, says the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. Nnnn GOVT. WON’T; QUIT SAYS DPM GACHCHHADAR Kathmandu, 5 Jan.: IRATNAGAR: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar has said that the present government would not quit before forging national consensus, RSS reports from Biratnagar.. Talking briefly to media persons at Birantagar Airport on Saturday, DPM Gachchhadar warned that if the parties failed to forge consensus within the January-9 deadline, election to Constituent Assembly was impossible in April/May. He made it clear that his party- Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Democratic was not for the formation of national consensus government under the apolitical persons because the political parties themselves need to tackle the national crisis. Chairman of the party, Gachchhadar said the party favouring the demands of Madhesi parties would be supported to make government. nnnn
