MOVEMENT TO DRAW ATTENTION OF WORLD SAYS KOIRALA Kathmandu, 21 Jan.:Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has said that the opposition alliance has initiated a movement in order to draw the attention of the national and international community, RSS reports fro Chitwan. Speaking at a press meet organised by Press Union Chitwan at Bharatpur on Monday, he said the agitation is also aimed at exerting pressure on the present government, and added that the agitation and talks would go together ahead. He also expressed the confidence that the movement would also help exert pressure on the President, who carries the duty of protecting the constitution, to move ahead seriously. Stating that the threatening by the Maoist Chairman Prachanda to go for a revolt by tearing off the peace accord would not bear any impact, the NC President said his party would never compromise with any side on fundamentals like democracy, rule of law and press freedom. On the occasion, the NC President said he agreed to become the prime ministerial candidate against his wishes and due to intense pressure to do so. He accused the UCPN-Maoist of breaking off one agreement after another. BIG PARTIES HAVE FAILED SAYS GACHCHADAR Kathmandu, 21 Jan.: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Bijaya Kumar Gachchadar has said that bigger political parties have failed since the restoration of democracy in the country, and as a result pushed the country towards, RSS reports from a crisis, RSS reports from Ihtahari. Inaugurating the 32nd annual general meeting of Sunsari Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Dharan on Monday, he claimed that the country has not been able to get a political outlet as the bigger political parties were 'staging a play' in the name of consensus while the senior leaders continue to 'beat the drum' of their own personal interests. Stating that elections were not possible in May as a result of the ongoing tussle for power, Mr Gachchadar, who is also the President of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum-Democratic, expressed the possibility holding the CA elections in coming October/November. Speaking on the occasion, former central chair of Federation of Nepali Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI), Kush Kumar Joshi, suggested the leaders to stop misleading the people further and work honestly in favour of the country and people. He also warned that the country could be fall into a serious crisis if the state did not immediately stop acts like donation terror, power cuts and kidnappings affecting the industrial and business sector of the country. nnnn
