OPPOSITION LAUNCHES MOVEMENT FROM DAILEKH Kathmandu, 19 Jan.: NC.UML and other parties are launching an anti-government public movement against government to bring it down. The protest is being launched Saturday from Dallekh where five Maoists ared being investigated for murdering a journalist eight years ago. The opposition paties said there was no alternat8ive to street protests to bring down the government which has plannd to counter the move from the capital. nnnn CPN MAOIST CENTRAL COMMITTEE MEET Kathmandu, 19 Jan.: CPN Maoist began their first central committee meeting Saturday after a general convention. The meeting is planning independent anti-government protests without working with other parties. nnnn KESHAB STAPHIT SACKED Kathmandu, 19 Jan.: Government Thursday. sacked Kathmandu Valley Development Authority (KVDA) Chief Commissioner Keshav Sthapit. The former Kathmandu mayor was a UML activist appointed by the Baburam Bhattarai government amid complaint of slow progress in building structures after demolition in the capital.. Nnnn
