NC, FDFN DISCUSS NEW GOVT.
Kathamandu, 7 Jan: A meeting was held between the leaders of the epali Congress and the Federal Democratic Front Nepal (FDFN) on Monday, RSS reports..
During the meeting held at Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala´s residence in Maharajgunj, the leaders discussed on moving ahead by forging consensus on different issues, including the formation of a national consensus government, election, collaboration and struggle.
They also discussed on going for election by forming a national consensus government by toppling the incumbent government and moving ahead by forming a common understanding on issues of common concerns.
Stating that consensus would not be forged and the country could not get an outlet until the present government´s exit from power, Coordinator of the Front, Upendra Yadav, said that consensus was forged on going for election of the Constituent Assembly (CA) and removal of the government.
Yadav said now there was no alternative of launching agitation against the government and added that a broad alliance should be formed by breaking the syndicate of the three parties for the same.
Similarly, NC central member, Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat, said that they were agreed that the incumbent government should go soon and a national consensus government should be formed to go for election. They also agreed on going for an agitation if necessary.
He said they held talks on pursuing discussions on other issues of consensus.
Chief of the Publicity Department, Dr. Minendra Rijal, said that although there was no alternative to holding the constituent assembly election, such an election would not be possible by mid-May as the government was frustrating the environment for the same on various pretexts. He added that there was no other option than to go for agitation in such context.

COLD CLAIMS 2 LIVES IN MOHOTTARI
Kathmandu, 7 Jan.: Two more people died in a village in Mahottari district Sunday night due to the
freezing cold, RSS reports from Gaushala..
The deceased have been identified as Ramasheshwor Sah, 55, and Raj Kumaridevi Mandal, 50, of Bajarahi village, according to family members.
They were found dead at their homes this morning. It is said they died due to hypothermia following cold wind and thick fog.
With this, the death toll due to cold in Mahottari district this year has reached 20.
The death toll climbed to 20 after 17 persons lost their lives over two weeks´ period and three persons in the past four days.
