STAPHIT DRAWSN PM TO COURT
Kathmandu, 21 Jan. Former Mayo of the capital Keshab Staphit Monday
filed a writ at the supreme court saying he was as chief commissioner of Kathmandu Valley Development Authority (KVDA) by government illegally.
Staphit says his removal was flawed and made Prime Minster Baburam Bhattarai, Prime Minister's Office and Cabinet defendants in the case.
PM Bhattarain was unhappy with Staphit over implementation of road expansion plans.

UCPN MAOIST MEET CONCLUDES
Kathmandu, 21 Jan.:The fifth unity district convention of the UCPN (Maoist) concluded in Pokhara, Kaski on Monday, nominating 26 representatives for the national general convention, RSS reports from Pokhara .
Ramji Badal, Lalmohan Tiwari, Gupta Bahadur Hamal, Bakhan Singh Tamu, Ganga Pokhrel, Deepak Koirala, Tej Kumari Poudel, Purna Kumari Rana, Santoshi Ale, Somati Tamu, Jagmaya Sunar, Durga BK, Nirmala Kranti, Gyan Bahadur Koirala and Hem Bahadur Thapa have been elected for participating in the national general convention .
Similarly, Tikaram Poudel, Harinarayan Giri, Suman Devkota, Khagendra Kafle, Keshab Poudel, Binay Thapa, Raj Kumar Dulal, Prem Neupane, Dambar Pariyar, Rajendra Tamu and Manahari Timilsina are among those representatives selected for taking part in the general convention .
Four representatives have been selected as the alternative general convention representatives from the district.
However, election of the district leadership will be held after the national general convention . Over 710 people including the representatives and observers participated in the closed session of the convention held at the local city hall. R
