SUSHIL KOIRALA ASKS PRESIDENT TO INTERVENE
Kathmandu, 24 Jan.: President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav and President of the Nepali Congress, Sushil Koirala, had a meeting on Thursday at a time when political crisis is deepening due to lack of consensus among the political parties. RSS reports.
The meeting was held between them at a time when environment of consensus among political parties is scuttled after the opposition parties made public the protest programmes against the government demanding election by forming a national consensus government whereas the ruling parties also made public programmes mass mobilization.
During the meeting held at the Presidential Place, President Yadav expressed worry over lack of forging of consensus among the political parties.
The President also urged NC President Koirala to find out outlet of the existing stalemate through political consensus.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, Koirala said that the president is worried over the political crisis of the country and has concern for consensus as a patron of the constitution.
On the occasion, the NC President also urged the president to play a positive role from the post as a patron of the constitution.
Koirala said that they discussed on ending the current stalemate.
President Yadav has stopped to provide deadline to political parties to forge consensus after political parties were unable to forge consensus within the deadline.
