BREAKTHROUGH AGREEMENT OF ELECTION GOVT.UPDATE Kathmandu, 18 Feb.: The Big Three and five-party ruling Madeshi Morcha agreed Monday to conduct constituent assembly (CA) elections in June and form an election government headed by Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi.. Elections have been recommended on 5 June. The major party leaders endorsed a package suggestion of a eight-member task force of representatives of the major parties f the our parties and the Morcha... According to the understanding made today, the CJ-led government will comprise of 11 nonpartisan individuals. An agreement on other issues of the package was elusive. The parties meet again Tuesday. Party leaders differ on a voters’ list after a fresh census report, Citizenship and several other issues, NC Vice-President Ram Chandra Paudel said. . The task force recommended a 490-member CA/parliament--. 240 members directly elected under the first-past-the post system and 240 other members elected under proportional system.
