PEDESTRIAN KILLED IN CHITWAN Kathmandu, 13 Feb.: A pedestrian was killed in a road accident that took place at Malpot chowk of Chitwan on Wednesday morning, RSS reports from Chitwan.. An unidentified man in his 40s died on the spot after being hit by a passenger bus (Na.4Kha6544) heading towards Kathmandu from Siraha, according to District Police Office. The road accident at Malpot chowk in Bharatpur-10 took place at around 3:00 am today, Chitwan police said. The bus has been impounded but the bus driver is at large. Police have launched a search for the absconding driver and are trying to trace the identity and thereby the next to kin of the deceased. Outgoing President of the Bar Prem Bahadur Khadka handed over the leadership to newly elected President Hari Krishna Karki. Karki was elected the President of the Bar in the elections held on January 11. Likewise, Janak Pandey, Tikaram Bhattarai, Anita Gurung, Padma Prasad Vedic and Rajendra Bahadur Saud were elected the Vice-presidents representing the five development regions—eastern, central, western, mid-western and far western respectively. Sunil Kumar Pokharel is the General Secretary while Mohan Ingnam is the Treasurer.
