PM HOLD DISCUSSIONS WITH CHIEF JUSTICE REGMI; OTHER DETAILS Kathmandu, 19 Feb.: Prime Miniser Baburam Bhattarai held consultations Tuesday morning with Khil Raj Regmi.and asked the chief justice to assume leadership of an election government. PM Bhattarai later briefed the leaders of the Big Three and Madeshi Morcha on the talks. The leaders of the main political parties re holding discussions with Regmi Wednesday. Meanwhile CPN Maoist Leader Deb Gurung said Tuesday his party will boycott elections held by the Regmi government. Meanwhile, UML a meeting of the standing committee has been called Wednesday. ‘A person cannot head the government and the judiciary,” General- Secretary Ishwor Pokhrel said. NC and UML took a decision to support a Regmi-led government just to oust Prime Minister Bhattarai. Broad public opposition is emerging against a proposed Regmi government. WILL BE INSTALLED Kathmandu, 19 Feb.: Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai has said that the Chief Justice was being entrusted with the leadership of the election government based on a consensus among the political parties, RSS reports from Gorkha.. Speaking at the diamond jubilee celebrations of Aahal Secondary School in Thalajong VDC of the district on Tuesday, he said though the chief justice would become the prime minister, there will be an advisory committee of senior leaders above him. Stating that a new government would be formed in a day or two, Dr Bhattarai said if that government fails to hold CA elections in June then it would be replaced by a government led by the political parties. All the political parties have agreed to the CA elections in June, he said. Speaking at a press conference organized by the Revolutionary Journalists' Association, Gorkha chapter, Dr Bhattarai said he became the prime minister at a very special situation. "Though my government could not fulfill many needs of the people it was successful in completing some mega projects including the peace process", he said. Referring to his meeting with the Chief Justice earlier this morning, the Prime Minister said he found that the CJ was willing to become the next prime minister. INDIAN NATIONAL KILLED An Indian national died on the spot when a tractor overturned in Shiva Brick Factory at Bishnupur VDC in Siraha district., RSS reports from Siraha.. According to police, driver Satya, Narayan Mandal died after the tractor (Sa 1 Ta 3613) met with an accident on Monday night. Police said the tractor overturned while it was bringing bricks out from the factory. Mandal's body has been kept at District Hospital, Siraha, for postmortem. RSS nnnn
