RED PAND FOUND IN JUMLA Kathmandu, 2 Feb.:Endangered species Red Panda has been found at Talimchaur, Chandannath-1 in Jumla district on Saturday, RSS reports from Jumla.. The locals of Talimchaur found and reported it to the District Forest Office about the animal. They were surprised to find a new animal around here. It is one of the 27 protected species of mammals in Nepal. The Red Panda has been safely kept at the office, said Officiating Chief at the office, Bharat Bahadur Budthapa. It was the first time the animal was found here. It could be found in the areas in north- eastern part of Nepal like Taplejung, Lamtang National Park, and neighboring areas of Assam, Sikkim and Bhutan. The officials have supposed that other Red Pandas might also be found around there. It has become a matter of curiosity among the locals and forest officials. It will be left in a protected habitat after serious research, said official Budthapa. RSS Nnnn AMBASSADOR CHALISE IN UK AWAREDED Kathmandu, 2 Feb.:Ambassador to the United Kingdom Suresh Chandra Chalise Thursday was awarded the first Grassroot Diplomat Initiative Award for promoting the ‘Social Integration of Gurkhas through Social and Economic Diplomacy.’ Chalise was rewarded for Promoting Gurkha Rights in the UK, the Nepali embassy said. nnnn
