RULING MAOISTS FOR ELECTIONS NOT WARFARE SAYS PRACHANDA
Kathmandu, 3 Feb.: A closed door session of the UCPN Maoist begins in
Hetauda on the second day Sunday of its seventh general convention that
got underway in the industrial town Saturday.
A political report prepared by Chairman Prachanda for adoption
determining the party’s future policies and programmes
after joining the political mainstream will be discussed.
Top leaders said the party won’t return to the jungle.
“Its an insult of the Nepalis and martyrs to again talk of prolonged war and guerrilla warfare. A federal democratic republic should be established peacefully through another election of the constituent assembly,” the Maoist chiefs told delegates at the convention.
Prachanda said this even as CPN Maoist, the party’s splinter group, called
