UDMF LEAADER CONSULT PRESIDENT
Kathmandu, 13 Feb.:: President Dr Ram Baran Yadav on Wednesday held talks with the leaders of the United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) about the ongoing political deadlock in the country and its way-out, RSS reports..
During the meeting that took place at the President´s Palace, Shital Niwas, the President was learnt to have urged the UDMF leaders to reach an agreement on fresh election as quickly as possible.
Talking to media persons following the meeting, UDMF coordinator and Deputy Prime Minister Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar said the President urged them to be sensitive towards forging a consensus soon. The President said that he wanted resolution on the basis of consensus among the political parties themselves.
"The President summoned us for talks as he was serious towards the problems in the country", he added.
"A political outlet to the country should be sought with the political consensus and fresh election held as early as possible", the President told the Front leaders.
Chairman of the Terai Madhes Democratic Party Mahantha Thakur was also present in the meeting.
Earlier, the President had separate meetings with UCPN ( Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala, CPN (UML) Chairman Jhalanath Khanal, senior leader KP Oli and general secretary Ishwor Pokhrel today and discussed about the matters of finding an outlet to the nation.
Stating that they were ready to accept the leadership of the Chief Justice or small parties and even the big parties if consensus was forged to that end, leader Gachchhadar said, now the possibility of CJ-led election government was high.
He said the fresh CA election within mid-June was not possible if the parties failed to make an agreement by tomorrow.
It may be noted that the President has of late intensified talks with the political parties with a view to finding a way out to the nation as soon as possible.
On Tuesday as well, the President had prodded the big political leaders to immediately build consensus and hold election on time.
Prior to this, the top leaders of the big three parties and the UDMF had held a discussion at the residence of the Nepali Congress President on different options for the leadership of the election government.
However, the consensus eluded also in the discussion with the President because the parties did not budge from their stands.

The first meeting of the newly elected working committee of NBA held today has said that its serious attention has been drawn towards such statement and added that there can be no difference of opinion on adopting the principles of power separation and constitutionalism.
The statement issued by newly elected General Secretary Sunil Kumar Pokhrel has also drawn the attention of all political parties and leaders not to neglect the principle of constitutionalism and constitutional arrangement that no one person can head three powers of the state
