UML’S KHANAL SAYS BHATTARAI GOVT. ‘WILL FALL’ Kathmandu, 25 Feb.:: CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal has said that the country would now get a way out of the current political deadlock, RSS reports from Bhaktapur.. Inaugurating the ninth central general convention of the Agriculture Development Bank Employees Association at Bode of Madhyapur Thimi on Monday, he said the outlet was finally possible with Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi accepting the offer to lead the next government. "Now the Baburam-led government would fall, a government will be formed under the leadership of Chief Justice Regmi, elections will be held and the nation will get a way out", he said. He also disclosed that the four major political forces would sit together today to take concrete decisions about the next government and sign an agreement for the same. The UML Chairman made it clear that the agreement reached in favour of a CJ-led government was the only way out in the context of the rising political and economic crisis, aided by the constitutional crisis in the country. At the programme, Sunsari, Chitwan and Kailai were declared the first, second and third among the best district committees of the Agriculture Development Bank while Lumbini, Narayani and Bagmati came out first, second and third among the regional committees of the Bank. A total of 232 representatives and 240 observers from across the country are taking part in the convention that will end with a new executive committee on February 28. Nnnn HITKARBIR SINGH TO LEAD PAROPAKAR Kathmandu, 25 Feb.:: The central assembly convention of 'Paropakar', the country's oldest charity, on Sunday elected a 21-member leadership under the chair of Hitkarbir Singh. The new board of members has the tenure of next four years, RSS reports. Bekharatna Shakya is the first vice president elected to the committee, Ganesh Prasad Basyal is the second vice president whereas Dr Dambar Bahadur Nepali is general secretary while Uttam Lal Joshi and Engineer Prakash Ratna Tuladhar are treasurer and Co-general secretary, respectively. Similarly, Nabindra Raj Joshi, Natikrishna Khagi, Babukrishna Khadka, Dr Ram Chayaman Amatya, Milan Bahadur Bajracharya, Khadgaman Shrestha, Dilli Bahadur Kapali, Pratapraj Wonta, Tarachandra Neupane, Hikmat Bahadur Mali, Shakuntala Pradhan, Kaya Bahadur Nepali and Dharmaratna Dangol are the elected members. Two members shall be nominated later, it is learnt. The convention has decided to complete the under-construction elderly home in Duwakot within the next year and bring it into operation. Similarly, as per the convention decision, a training center shall be operated to impart training to children deprived of higher education due to various causes. Besides, the convention has agreed to observe the centenarian of founder of the organisation and noted social worker Dayabir Singh Kansakar in the districts, also. nnnn
