UPDATE STUDENTS WITHDRAW VALLEY BANDS SUNDAY
Kathmandu, 14 Feb.; Students representing 11 student unions Thursday
withdraw Sunday’s Valley bandh to protest a Rs,630 hike in LPG which was immediately withdrawn by Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) Thursday following intervention of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai.
Students said they took the decision after NOC invited them for talks Friday at aaaaan unspecified time and place..
Other protests will continue, student representatives said.

GULMI CLOSED DOWN FOR SECOND DAY THURSDAY
Kathmandu, 14 Feb.: Gumli was closed down for the second day Thursday with locals protesting what was described as police excesses during Wednesday’s protests to oppose an 18-hour daily power cut.
Markets, schools were closed down for the second day of an indefinite strike.

UPDATE HIMALAYAN SHERPA ENTERS FINAL OF SIMARA CUP
Kathmandu, 14 Feb.; Himalayan Sherpa will play defending champion
MMC in the final of he Simara Gold Cup in Sumara Saturday.
The Club defeated Shankata in the second semi-final 2-1 in extended time
after a draw in normal time Thursday.
