NO HEARING ON LEGAL STATUS OF REGMI-LED GOVT.
Kathmandu, 14 March: A three-member special bench of the supreme court did not conduct
hearing Thursday on two writs claiming formation of an election government headed by Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi was unconstitutional.
Advocates Bharat Jangam and Om Prakash Aryal filed the writs seeking
interim orders.
Justices Ram Kumar Prasad Shah, Sushila Karki and Girish
Chandra Lal were assigned to the bench.
Justice Ram Kumar Prasad Shah was appointed member of
judicial c which was a defendant.
Justice Damodar Sharma has been elevated as the head of the council following Regmi’s appointment as Regmi as the head of government. He’s also acting chief justice as senior most judge of the supreme court.
