BREAKING NEWS EXPECTED INSTALLMENT OF CHIEF JUSTICE
REGMI DIDN’T TAKE PLACE
Kathmandu, 14 March: The expected installment of Chief Justice Khil Raj
Regmi as head of the ’interim election council’ by President Dr. Ram
Baran Yadav didn’t take place at 11PM Wednesday.
Regmi, who didn’t; resign as chief justice, will now be sworn in Thursday
morning.
The parties succeeded in reaching an agreement before a special bench of the supreme court begins hearing on two writs challenging Maoist attempt to install Regmi as unconstitutional.
There’s widespread opposition to the whole process.
Cabinet Wednesday endorsed the agreement signed by the four major
Players; ministers of two small parties boycotted the cabinet meeting they weren;t involved in the process dominated only by four powers.
The work of Regmi as chief of supreme will be conducted by an aching chief justice.
Regmi will continue until election are held, an agreement said Wednesday.
A constituent assembly for which elections are being held for the
second time will have 491 members.
Meanwhile, a special committee on integration of Maoist former fighters in Nepal Army and headed by prime minister ex officio also met Wednesday night..
It’s tenure was extended until 13.April.
The committee discussed a breakthrough agreement.
