CARTER MEETS PARTY LEADERS SUPPORTING GOVT. Kathmandu, 31 MarchL Visiting former US President Jimmy Carter held chiefs pf The Big Three and Madeshbadi parties Sunday. Constituent assembly elections, currents political issues, rights and other issues were discussed. The former US president Saturday sought permission from government Chief Khil Raj Regmi to monitor the coming assembly vote amid reports the Carter Center is working illegally without registering with government bodies as required by law. Carter sought permission Sunday from Chief Election Commissioner Neelkantha Uprety to monitor the coming vote.. UML Chairman Jhalan Khanal said Carter called for a free and fair vote involving opposition parties. nnnn .
