CJ-LED GOVT. IN TWO DAYS SAYS PM Kathmandu, 4 March: Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai has said that an election government headed by Chief Justice Khilaraj Regmi would be formed within the next two days and the same government would conduct the Constituent Assembly (CA) election within mid-June, RSS reports from Okhaldunga.. Opening the golden jubilee celebrations of Yugkavi Siddicharan Shrestha Higher Secondary School here on Monday, PM Bhattarai who is also the Vice Chairman of UCPN (Maoist), said the proposal to constitute a CJ-led government was for promulgating a federal constitution through the CA. "People´s rights should be ensured with the drafting of a new constitution through the CA", the PM said, adding that the present government was ready to sacrifice anything to ensure a new constitution. "The political parties had agreed to a CJ-led government and our party proposed CJ Regmi to take up the government leadership", Dr Bhattarai added. Meanwhile, the CPN-UML and Nepali Congress boycotted the programme , citing the PM accompanied UCPN (Maoist) leader Balkrishha Dhungel, convicted of murder by the Supreme Court. RSS REPORTS FROM PANCHATHAR CHANCES SLIM SAYS SUSHIL KOIRALA Nepali Congress President Sushil Koirala has said that the UCPN (Maoist) itself was dillydallying to constitute an election government under the leadership of Chief Justice Khilaraj Regmi. Speaking at a press meet organized by the Nepali Congress, Panchthar at Phidim on Monday, leader Koirala accused the UCPN (Maoist) and the Madhesi parties of planning to foil their own proposal of forming a CJ-led election government. "The UCPN (Maoist) and the Madesh-centric parties are afraid that they will be exposed in the upcoming Constituent Assembly election", he said. The incumbent government still wants to avert CA election even after announcing it twice, the Congress President said, while also accusing the UCPN (Maoist) –led government of practicing totalitarianism under different pretentions. Stating the possibility of formation of an election government was becoming slim, leader Koirala argued that there was no alternative to an agitation under the leadership of Congress to protect the democratic achievements. He said the Congress would never forget rule of law, democratic norms and values, press freedom and human rights and always remain committed towards these matter Nnnn
