FIRE INJURES THREE IN GULMI, DAMAGE HEAVY
Kathmandu, 12 March : At least three persons were injured in a fire that broke out at a house in Johad VDC-1, Chirkot of
Gulmi district, RSS reports from Dhurkot..
Among the injured in the fire incident that took place at 12 last night are Tek Bahadur Subedi, 55, Anil Miya and Bhanubhakta Bhandari, confirmed the District Police Office, Gulmi.
The injured are being treated at United Mission Hospital in Palpa. Property worth Rs 2.1 million was destroyed in the fire that engulfed the houses of Chandra Bhandari, Raj Kumar Bhusal and Khem Bahadur Bhandari.
The fire was spread from the kitchen of Tek Bahadur Subedi at a time when all were asleep in their houses. Police said the fire was brought under control with the efforts of local people and police personnel.
Meanwhile, a person has lost his life after falling from a cliff. The deceased has been identified as Kalu Rana of Hastichaur, according to police.

ONE DEAD IN GAIDAKOT ACCIDENT
Kathmandu, 12 March : A person died and other five sustained serious injury in a road accident at Gaindakot along the East-West Highway on Tuesday morning, RSS reports from Kawasoti..
A taxi (Na.1 Ja. 2222) heading to eastern direction from west collided with a stationary truck (Ba.2Kha.1959) at Gaindakot in Nawalparasi.
The deceased was taxi passenger Balkrishna Adhikari, 32, of Bharatpur Municipility-3, Chitwan, said the Area Police Office Gaindakot.
The injured are taxi driver Deepak Poudel, Milan Basnet, Prawin Aale Magar, Santosh Bhusal and Krishna Bhandari. They are being treated at Bharatpur Medical College, said police .

BOMB DEFUSED IN CHITWAN
Kathmandu, 12 March: A disposal team of the Nepal Army has defused a bomb found at Birendranagar in Chitwan on Monday evening, RSS reports from Ratnanagar..
According to Deep Kumar Thapa, Chief of the District Police Office, Chitwan, the bomb was found at the banana field of local Navraj Poudel. The stray bomb might be placed there during the Maoist insurgency, said Thapa.
It may be noted that earlier two locals had lost their life in a bomb explosion in the same area.

Dr. Baral succeeds Prof. Dr Soumya Bhattacharya who
resigned after Senate of PAHS succumbed to widespread

Dr Sangita Bhandary as vice-chancellor of PAHS.

FORMER MAOIST LAWMAKER MANHANDLED

Kathmandu, 12 March:: Former lawmaker Budhanidevi Mahato was manhandled in Gaushala Bazaar of Mahottari district on Monday night, RSS reports from Mahottari...
Mahendra Sah, who is a teashop owner and his men, thrashed Budhanidevi Mahato, a former lawmaker representing the Unified CPN (Maoist) from the district in the dissolved Constituent Assembly.
She was reportedly manhandled after she hung around the shop for long and refused to vacate the seat despite the shopkeeper's request to do so, according to Area Police Office, Gaushala.
Mahato was injured on her face and body. She is undergoing treatment at the local health post, now.
Police arrested Ramjeevan Sah, a staff at the shop, in connection with the incident whereas the tea shop owner is absconding, said Police Inspector Jaya Narayan Yadav.
Former lawmaker Mahato is from Laxminiya VDC of the district.

Dashrath Ranghashala stampede killing 73 football fans in a stampede
following a sudden storm accompanied by hail.
It was then the world’s worst sporting disaster.
The disaster is still Asia’s worst.
Fans piled one on top of another at closed gates of the open air stadium as they attempted to rush out for shelter.
Most of the fans were dead on arrival at they were rushed to hospital/
A match was being played between a local team and visitors from Bangladesh.
