FOUR PARTIES DEMAND ANNOUNCEMENT OF ELECTION DATE
Katmandu, 29 March A meeting of the high-powered committee of four
political powers behind the government of Khil Raj Regmi government is
meeting Friday to ask government to formally announce date for the
second constituent assembly election
The high-powered body of chaired by Maoist Chairman Prachanda.
The cabinet couldn’t take a decision Thursday on date announcement
Thursday even after a three-hour meeting.
Maoist office bearers also demanded government to announce dates even as Regmi government completed 16 days in office Thursday.
Newly appointed Chief Commissioner Neelkanta Uprety, four
commissioners and officials of election commission discussed the vote Thursday.
Election officials said election laws must be updated following removal of 25 ‘obstacles’ –an amendment’ in the constitution by the president and parliament for the vote.
The parties and officials Thursday discussed widespread obstruction by
CPN Maoist in preparations for the vote.
Work to update a voters’ list is being obstructed.

CHAKRA PRASAD BASTOLA BEING AIRLIFTED TO CAPITAL FRIDAY FROM DELH;; HE W
Kathmandu, 20 March: Chakra Prasad Bastola, is being airlifted to the
capital from New Delhi where he was under treatment following a
massive strike in an unconscious state.
The treatment he’s receiving at the hospital in the Indian capital can
continue in Nepal, persons close to Bastola said.
Baastola, a former foreign and tourism minister, hasn’t fully recovered.
He is a nephew of Koirala family.

CAPITAL’S MORNING TEMPERATURE 13 DEGREES CELSIUS
Kathmandu, 29 March: Capital’s morning temperature atseven was 13 degrees Celsius.
Mercury on a rainy day is expected to rise to 28 degrees Celsius in the
afternoon.
