Kathmandu, 18 March: Former NC lawmaker Lekhnath Adhikari died
Sunday.
Adhikari died while undergoing treatment at hospital.

INTERNATIONAL TAMANG COFERENCE CONCLUDES MONDAY
Kathmandu, 18 March: A three-day international Tamang conference
concludes in the capital by adopting an intetim statute for the body Monday.
Eight hundred delegates from 18 plus states participated in the third
conference—two in Kathmandu and one in Darjeeling.

BETEL NUTS SMUGLING PREVENTED
Kathmandu, 18 March: Border officials Monday intercepted a consignment of 750km betel nuts being smuggled across the border to India.
Revenue officials also seized 22 containers with Chinesc goods heading for the capital.

INVESTIGATION INTO MURDER DEMANDED
Kathmandu, 18 March:: Locals demonstrated at Jomsom bazaar demanding investigation into the murder of Pemba Bista (68) of Kagbeni VDC in Mustang
District, RSS reports from Parbat..
The locals pelted stones at the District Police Office after police tried to stop them.
They demonstrated demanding arrest of those involved in the murder stating Bista was murdered after abduction on March 2.
The demonstrators also submitted a memorandum to Chief District Officer, Mustang, Ishwor Raj Regmi, demanding those involved in murder be identified and law and order be maintained.
Receiving the memo, Regmi said that investigation into the case is forwarded in a speedy manner.
Chhami Bista and Lopsang Gurung have been arrested on the charge of their involvement on the basis of a petition.
Body of the deceased was found in pieces at the banks of Kaligandaki River at Jomsom VDC.
Police Inspector Rajendra Pokhrel said that some parts of the body were sent to Kathmandu for postmortem.
Pokhrel said that murderers would be arrested sooner with proofs if locals provide support to police for the same.
