Since today [Monday] morning he has started taking sips of water himself,” the hospital said. Cardiologist Dr. Mann Chandavimol and neurologist Dr. Songchai Chinwattanakul said Shah will undergo MRI and neurological status will be reassessed in detail in a few days time. BROADER LEFT UNITY BEING NEGOTIATED SAYS GAJUREL OF CPN MAOIST Kathmandu, 4 March: CPN-Maoist Vice Chairman CP Gajurel has said that the proposal of forming a government under the leadership of an independent person is a ploy hatched by the foreign countries, RSS reports from Nuwakot.. Speaking in a news conference organised by the CPN-Maoist Nuwakot district unit here today, he alleged that the European Union, the U.S. and India were interfering in matters of governance in the country. Gajurel, who was also the chief of the UCPN-Maoist Foreign Affairs Department before the party split, said that the opposition parties buying into the proposal brought by the UCPN-Maoist from its recent General Convention is making this foreign plan successful. He stated that making the Chief Justice, a bureaucrat, the Prime Minister of the country would further prolong the political deadlock. Gajurel disclosed that his party was working to forge a broader unity among all the left forces in the country for a way out. He expressed doubt over the election to a new Constituent Assembly taking place any time soon as at 120 days are required for making preparations for the same. Gajurel said that his party would not be taking part in the election, if ever it takes place. Meanwhile, RSS adds, Deuba said that the big political parties have agreed to appoint Chief Justice the Prime Minister of the election government for ending the fluid political situation in the country and displace the Dr Bbauram Bhattarai-led government. Addressing a news conference organised at Itahari in Sunsari district today, Deuba said that however the Chief Justice would not be in a position to work in the Supreme Court after he assumes the post of Prime Minister of the election government. The NC senior leader also said that once the Chief Justice assumes the post of Prime Minister he cannot make appointments to important posts except some limited sectors. Deuba stated that the elections should be held even in mid-July if it was not possible to do so in mid-June. He also claimed that the rumour that the CJ-led government was being formed at the bidding of India was baseless. nnnn
