Kumar Lama from a jail in London has been delayed and his detention will continue until British government receives a guarantee letter the Nepali army officer won’t leave United Kingdom until his court case is settled, Nagarik reports. The British government has written to Nepal government. “British government has sought written guarantee he won’t leave until the case is Decided [in court] and the Nepali embassy won’t issue him a travel document,” foreign ministry spokesman Arjun Bahadur Thapa said. Only surety money paid on his behalf isn’t enough, a Nepali official said. Col. Lama was arrested for rights abuses during the insurgency. nnnn
