REINSTATEMENT OF SACKED EMPLOYEES DEMANDED
Kathmandu, 26 March: The All Nepal Revolutionary Trade Union Federation has announced a series of protest programs calling for the reinstatement of the employees and workers expelled from Hello Nepal and NCell, the telecom companies owned by the multinational
company Telesonera, RSS reports..
In a statement issued today, Coordinator of the Federation, Ramdeep Acharya, has given ultimatum to the management of the two telecom companies for reinstating the expelled employees and workers until March 27.
He warned that the Federation would organize a protest meet in front of the central office of the company under its second-phase protest programs and halt all the services of the company under the third phase protests if their demands were not addressed.
The Federation has alleged that 87 employees and workers at Hello Nepal were expelled in unjustified manner. Before this, All Nepal Revolutionary Communications and Press Workers Association had been carrying out various protest programs.
The central office and the Hetauda-based office of Ncell were vandalized in course of the protest programs. The Association has stated that three of its members have been detained by police.
