RPP, RJP UNITY CONVENTION 15

Kathmandu, 27 March: The unity general convention of Rastriya Janashakti Party (RJP) and Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is set to take place in Kathmandu from coming May 15 to 17, RSS reports.
Earlier, the party merger conclave was scheduled for April 5 to 8.
The date for general convention has been changed considering the need to hold intensive discussion on the party policy documents and statute to be presented in the conclave in view of upcoming election, stated a press release jointly signed by RPP Chair Pashupati Shumsher JB Rana and RJP Chief Surya Bahadur Thapa.

UPDATE UML DEMANDS BHATTARAI GOVT. APPOINTMENTS
BE OVERTURNED TO ENSURE FREE VOTE
Kathmandu, 27 March: UML standing committee
Wednesday demanded political appointments of the
Baburam Bhattarai government should be overturned to
ensure free and fir constituent polls by the Khil Raj
Regmi government.
The committee discussed elections likely to be held June or November.
The party body asked workers to prepare for the
second constituent assembly (CA) vote.
Chairman Jhalanath Khanal said the party will emerge
as the biggest party after the election..
UML called a Valley meeting of workers as a show of strength 5 April

JAPAN HELP FOR RADAR AT TIA TO
AUGMENT FLIGHT SAFETY
Kathmandu, 27 March: The Government of Japan through Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has agreed to provide a grant assistance of Rs 907 million to the Government of Nepal for the implementation of the Tribhuvan International Airport Modernization Project, RSS reports.
The Exchange of note regarding to enhance the flights safety and airport capacity of TIA by improving reliability, efficiency and coverage of existing Radar Surveillance System was signed between both the countries.
At a program organized at the Ministry of Finance today, Secretary at the Ministry Shanta Raj Subedi and Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Kunio Hakahasi signed the Exchange of Notes of this agreement.
Similarly, Madhu Kumar Marasini Joint-Secretary at the Ministry and Tsutomu Shimizu Chief Representative of JICA, Nepal, signed the agreement.
On the occasion, Subedi said there would be great contribution in regulation and security of the airport in air services from the assistance.
Likewise, Japanese Ambassador to Nepal Takahasi expressed belief that there would be reformed in air services of Nepal
