ANOTHER APPEAL TO MAOISTS TO RETURN PERMITTED WEAPONS Kathmandu, 22 April: Government re-issued a notice Monday asking for the handover of permitted and verified weapons for the security of top Maoist leaders . Home ministry issued the notice asking the weapons be returned by end [14 May]. Baisakh. Government threatened legal action if weapons aren’t returned by the deadline. nnnn ANOTHER COMMUNIST PARTY LAUNCHED Kathmandu, 22 April: Various six political parties have unified to form the Nepal Communist Party, RSS reports.. CPN (Unified), CPN (ML-Socialist), CPN (Unified Marxist), Marxist Communist Party, Bidrohi ML and the Independent Thought Group. Rishi Kattel is the Chair of the new party while Jagat Bahadur Bogati and Lok Narayan Subedi are the Co-chairs. Likewise, Haridev Gyawali, Ram Bahadur Bhandari and Tanka Rai are the Vice-chairs. Speaking at a press conference held in the capital on Monday, party Chair Kattel said the new party of likeminded parties that believed in the ideological norms and principle of the communist movement have become one to protect nationality and take the nation towards progression Nnnn INJURED LEOPARD CAPTURED ALIVE IN NEIBHBOURING DHADING Kathmandu, 22 April :An injured leopard that attempted to attack a foraging woman at Mahadevsthan-8, in neighbouring Dhading was captured by Thankot police Monday. The cat was handed over to the forest office. Nnnn UPDATE THREE OTHER NPC MEMBERS ALSO RESIGN Kathmandu, 22 April: Three other members of National Planning Commission (NPC) resigned Monday along with Vice Chairman Deependra Bahadur Kshetry. Janak Raj Sah, Shiva Kumar Rai and Abdul Rahim Mikrani tendered their resignations. nnnn
