BISKET JATRA BEGINS WEDNESDAY Kathmandu, 8 April: Preparations for the Bisket jatra to begin in Bhaktapur Wednesday have been completed, organizers said. Security has been tightened for the first festival or jatra of the Valley with deployment of 1,3000 security personnel. Goddesses Bhairab and Bhadrakali are pulled on chariots during the extended festival. The Seto Machindranath festival in the capital and Rato Machiundranath jatra in Lalitpur follow the Bisket jatra before the rice transplanting season.
