DETAILS OF MAOIST CHIEF XI MEET
Kathmandu, 18 April: UCPN-Maoist Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has met with Chinese President and General Secretary of Communist Party of China (CPC) Xi Jinping today [ Thursday], RSS reports..
During the meeting held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, the capital city of China, the Chinese President had asked Dahal about Nepal's latest political situation.
Chairman Dahal's personal secretary Chudamadi Khadka said the Chinese President pledged to support Nepal's for political stability and economic development.
Saying that Nepal and China share a very close relationship for long, Chinese President Xi stressed for expanding and developing relations between the two nations and two communist parties in the new fashion.
Similarly, Chairman Dahal said Nepal was headed for fresh Constituent Assembly (CA) elections based on major political parties' consensus though the earlier CA was dissolved due to many reasons.
During the 45 minutes conservation with the Chinese President, Dahal also said CA elections would be concluded soon in Nepal.
Dahal's personal secretary Khadka said Xi also congratulated Dahal for latter's reelection to the Chairperson of the UCPN-Maoist from its Seventh General Convention.
Similarly, Dahal also congratulated Xi for his appointment to the post of General Secretary of the CPC and President of People's Republic of China.
On the occasion, the two leaders discussed the guidelines passed by the general conventions of both the UCPN-Maoist and CPC.
During the meeting, Xi said the CPC and Chinese government were ready to further strengthen the relations with the Dahal-led UCPN-Maoist.
The two leaders also discussed the ways to take the existing historical relations between Nepal and China ahead in the changed world context.
Likewise, Xi assured Dahal of necessary support from the side of Chinese government to make the Nepal's upcoming CA polls a success.
On the occasion, the UCPN-Maoist Chairman urged Chinese President Xi to provide necessary support in Nepal's agriculture, energy, tourism and transport sectors.
In response, Xi pledged the Chinese government's readiness to help Nepal and Nepalis for their progress and prosperity.
Similarly, Xi said the Chinese government was convinced that the UCPN -Maoist and its top leadership were capable of tackling Nepal's current political transition.
Maoist Chairman Prachanda is the first top south Asian politician to visit China after the recent leadership change in China, world's second largest economy and the most populous country.
On the occasion, the leaders also held parleys to develop a strategic relationship between Nepal, China and India, it is said.

CAMPAIGN TO DISTRIBUTE DE-WORKING CAPSULES
Kathmandu, 18 April: The Ministry of health and Population´s highly prioritized program to administer Vitamin A and de-worming capsules to
children is beginning from Friday, RSS reports.
The government has aimed to serve Vitamin A to around 3.7 million children with age from six month of the birth to five years and de-worming tablets to around 3.4 million out of them on April 19 and 20.
Deepak Raj Chaulagain of Child Health Division said that as many as 53,000 women health volunteers would be mobilized to administer the capsules.
An arrangement is made to administer the drugs at the centres designated in every ward of all municipalities and VDCs.
The task of administering the capsules has been carried out to reduce
child mortality rate and prevent eye-related problems stemming from the deficiency of Vitamin A.
