GOVT. CHIEF VISITS ARMY HEADQUARTERS Kathmandu, 22 April: Chairman of the Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi visited the Nepal Army headquarters Monday. Minister for Home Affairs and Foreign Affairs Madhav Prasad Ghimire, Finance Minister Shanker Prasad Koirala and Minister for Tourism Ram Kumar Shrestha accompanied the government chief. Chief Secretary Leela Mani Paudel, Defense Secretary Tilak Ram Sharma and senior army officials were present ata briefing by Army Chief Gen. General Gaurav Shumsher Rana. Government Chief Regmi chairs the National Security Council. Gen. Rana urged modernization of the national army in different levels, and restructuring of the state army. Nnnn NPC VICE-CHAIRMAN RESIGNS Kathmandu, 22 April: Vice Chairman of National Planning Commission (NPC) Deependra Bahadur Kshetry resigned Monday. Kshetry wa appointed by the Baburam Bhattarai government. The resignation comes after a high-level body of four parties supporting the government discussed his replacement Sunday. Kshetry is a former governor of Nepal Rastra Bank. Nnnn DOZEN INJURED IN BHOJPUR VEHICULAR ACCIDENT Kathmandu, 22 April: At least one dozen people were injured in a road accident at Bokhim-6 of Bhojpur district this [Monday]morning, RSS reportsfrom Biratnagar.. According to the Eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar, they were injured after a bus (Ko 1 Kha 2771) met with an accident. Of the injured, condition of three is critical. All the injured are undergoing treatment at the District Hospital, Bhojpur, said police.Investigation into the incident is underway, added police. nnnn
