IMPLMENTATION OF TRC STAYED BY COURT Kathamandu, 1 April: A single bench of the Supreme court Monday stayed the implementation of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) ordinance promulgated by President Dr. Ram Baran Yadav on recommendation of the previous government of Baburam Bhattarai. a single bench PF Justice Sushila Karki asked plaintiff and defendants to present themselves to decide on whether a further stay was needed. The bench asked the defendants to present a written clarification why the why the ordinance was promulgated. .The petitioners and foreign governments say the ordinance does not meet international standards. nnnn PRACHANDA;SON BACK IN PARTY FOLD Kathmandu, 1 April: Prakash Dahal, son of Maoist Chairman Prachanda, has been reinstated in the party A meeting of office bearers of the UCPN-Maoist Monday evening took the decision. The controversial son of Prachanda was suspended after involvement with Girl activist in the party and they climbed Mount Everset for which the Baburam Bhattarai government first even sanctioned Rs.20 million amid protests.
