MAOISTS ASKED TO SURRENDER 32 WEAPONS ISSUED FOR PERSONAL SECURITY Kathmandu, 4 April UCPN Maoist and CPN Moist have been asked to submit 32 weapons issued to them for personal protection and security by end of Baishak [mid-May]- A decision was taken by a special committee on integration of former Maoist fighters that met for the first tiem under Government Chief Khil Raj Regmi Wedesday. The weapons were verified by UNMIN—a political arm of UN-- which has withdrawn without completing a peace process for which it was invited byparties under pressure from world capitals. UML’s Bhim Rawal said the weapons will be considered illegally kept nu Maoists iof they aren’t surrendered by the deadline. The government of Girija Prasad Koirala issued the weapons to Maoists after they joined the political mainstream seven years ago. nnnn PARAS KHADKA AND NEPAL CRICKET TEAM SHOWERED WITH PRESENTS prizes Kathmandu, 4 April: Nepal Skipper Paras Khadka received a prize money of Rs.50,000 from Cricket Association of Nepal after a sterling performance during the ACC Twenty20 Cup in which Nepal was runner-up Wednesday losing in the final to Afghanistan. Khadka was adjudged player of the series after scoring 207 runs and capturing four wickets.
