NC ACTIVISTS, CAPITAL’S PILGRIMS KILLED IN ACCIDENTS Kathmandu, 10 April: Three NC activists of Mohottari were killed when their jeep collided against a parked truck on a highway in Dhausha Wednesday morning; six others were injured. They were driving home to neighbouring Mohottari from Nawapaarasi where thy were attending an ongoing party mahasimiti meeting. Three pilgrims were killed and 16 others were injured, six seriously, in Taplejung overnight. The pilgrims, mostly women from the capital, were killed or injured in a tractor accident in the eastern district where they had gone to offer prayers and worship at Pathivara temple. Nnnn GHODE JATRA IN CAPITAL, BISKET JATRA IN BHAKTAPUR BEING CELEBRATED , Kathmandu, 1 April: Government announced a public holiday in the Valley Wedesday to celebrate Ghode jatra. Nepal Army is organizing a special funccton at Tundikhel, including horse races. President Dr. Ram Baran Yadan and senior officials will be at the parade ground for the function observed mainly by the Newar community. In neighbouring Bhaktapur, Bisket jatra celebrations started Wednesday. The festival will be observed nine days and eight nights. Lord Bhairabnathis worshipped in toles and chariots of Bhairabnth and Bhadrakali are pulled through the rown;s streets often leading to clashes. At least 1,3000 security personnel have been deployed to main peace. A division league champion Three Star and Hong Kong Nepal Federation have qualified for the other semifinal.
