ONE KILLED IN KAVRE FIRE Kathmandu, 14 April: A man was burnt alive in a forest fire while another has gone missing in Sunkoshi river in Kavre district, RSS reports from Banepa.. Driver of a Tata Sumo van (Ba 4 Cha 496) who had gone to take a bath in Sunkoshi river near Kusheshowr Dumja has gone missing this afternoon. Shree Krishna Khadgi of Banepa-3 went missing, police said. Meanwhile, a person who entered into a jungle to extinguish the forest fire was burnt to death at Koshidekha in Kavre district. Deputy Superintendent of Police Krishnaji Adhikari said Man Prasad Pathak (50) of Koshidekha VDC-7, who was seriously hurt in fire, died on the way to hospital. The forest fire that began on Saturday night is yet to be put out. RSS adds from Saptari: SAPTARI: A fire destroyed a dozen of houses at Maleth VDC in Saptari district this morning, turning the property worth around Rs. 1.5 million including cash Rs.500, 000 into ashes. The fire broke out from a cowshed of Kundan Safiya, said police. The inferno destroyed four houses of Safiya, two of Samar Sadam, two of Dambar Sadam, one of Parashuram Sadam, one of Chhotar Sadam and two of Amiri Sadam. Likewise, the fire has destroyed notes of Rs 500,000 belonging to Kundan Sada, said DSP at District Police Office, Saptari, Shyam Singh Chaudhary. It has ravaged food grains, clothes, jewelries and other valuables of his family. Locals doused the fire with the help of fire engines coming from Rajbiraj and Lahan. Meanwhile, the inferno that took place yesterday had turned 20 houses in Pakari, Phattepur and Didhawa VDCs of Saptari. nnnn
