PRACHANDA IN KUNMING Kathmandu, 16 April: Maoist Chairman Prachanda Monday interacts with academics and students at Szechwan University in central China Monday. He was welcomed by a five-member team of top party officials of the Communist Party of Chinalooking after the foreign department when he arrive in Kunming on the first day of a week-long China visit Sunday evening. Ptachanda will hold talks Wednesday and Thursday- the first South Asian leader to conduct talks with the new elected leadership of China in Beijing. Talks are scheduled with President Xi Jinping Pjng and Premier Li Keqiang and other top party and government officials. The talks come soon after installment of the new leadership. Presidrny girst talks outside China with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow and Indian Prime MoIniser Manmohan Singh in South Africa, Prachanda said he’ll attempt to balance Nepal’s relations with Beiking and New Delhi which h will visit after returning from China Saturday. Nnnn SCHOOL ENROLLMENT DRIVE Kathmandu, 15 April: Government, as in the past, will start an enrollment drive for students in school 27 April. A home-to-home campaign to encourage those left outs to join Schools will be conducted the following day. Nnnn CAPITAL’S TEMPERATURE AT SEVEN MONDAY 16 DEGREES CELSIUS Kathmandu, 15 April : Capital’s morning temperature Monday morning at seven was 16 degrees Celsius. Mercury is expected t rise to 31 degrees Celsius in the afternoon. nnnn
