POLITICAL PARTIES TO BE RGISTERED FROM TUESDAY
Kathmandu, 28 April: The Election Council (EC) has amended the regulations on political parties´ registration for the upcoming Constituent Assembly
(CA) polls, RSS reports..
As per the amended regulations, all the political parties participating in the erstwhile CA polls held in 2008 are also required to register themselves at the EC to be eligible to contest the upcoming CA polls.
The old political parties are not required to submit 10,000 signatures. However, this rule has not been changed for the new political parties.
Joint Secretary at the EC Madhu Prasad Regmi said the new regulation was sent to the Ministry of Law to publish in the Nepal Gazette today.
Regmi said process to register the new political parties would begin Tuesday onwards after announcing a public notice on Monday.

CHAIRMAN REGMI SAYS GOVT. TO ANNOUNCE POLL DATE SOON
Kathmandu, 28 April: Chairman of the Interim Election Council of Ministers Khil Raj Regmi has said that government was serious towards its responsibility of holding the new election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) and willing to announce its date soon.
Inaugurating the 13th Conference of Nepal Engineers´ Association in the capital today, Chairman Regmi said people from all sectors should be united and cooperate the government to make the CA election successful.
Holding fear-free and fair election with participation of all people and parties was the main goal of the government, he reiterated.
"It is the fundamental right of every Neapli citizen to vote in a fear-free atmosphere," he added.
Similarly, Chairman Regmi said the technical knowledge and skills should be used for transformation and national development.
On the occasion, Minister for Transport and Urban Development Chhabiraj Pant and Minister for Energy, Environment and Science Uma Kant Jha also said the utilization of technical knowledge within country was essential for development.
The conference to continue for three days is attended by some 1,500 engineers. Even the representatives from SAARC countries have attended the conference.
The attendants discussed engineers´ role on making Nepal prosperous, and prevention of natural disaster caused by climate change.
There are some 22,000 engineers in Nepal, and 7,000 Nepalis get enrolled to study engineering every year.

TWO ARRESTED TO INVESTIGATE INVOLVEMENT
IN ILLEGALLY ACQUIRING CITIZENSHIP
Kathmandu, 28 April: Police have forwarded legal action against two persons including an Indian national on the charge of their involvement in making Nepali
citizenship illegally, RSS reports from Birgunj.
The arrestees are Idrish Hawari of Gamhariya-7 of Parsa and an Indian national Kajir Hawari, 20.Police arrested them after getting information that Kajir submitted an application for Nepali citizenship by mentioning Idrish as father.
Locals revealed the truth with VDC Secretary, Jaya Narayan Chaurasiya, when Kajir was trying to make Nepali citizenship at the Integrated Mobile Camp organised at Gamhariya and both of them were arrested under the initiative of Chaurasiya.
