12 POLICEMEN CHARGED IN SAPTARI

According to the District Police Office, two Police Inspectors, three Police Sub Inspectors, two Assistant Sub-Inspectors, three Head Constables, three Policemen and one helper are taken action.
Among them, one Sub-Inspector, three personnel and one helper are removed from the service.

UML’S KHANAL SAYS NO ONE CAN OBSTRUCT POLL
Kathmandu, 18 May: CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal has said that the upcoming Constituent Assembly (CA) election would not be prevented at any cost despite obstructions from some sides, RSS reports from Biratnagar..
Talking to journalists at Biratnagar Airport on Saturday, Khanal said the CA election was the only option to end the country´s present deadlock.
He also urged all not to harbor doubts on CA election, as the CA election would be conducted by mid-November after promulgating the election act soon.
All should utilize the election instead of protesting, as election was the backbone of democracy, the former prime minister said.
Khanal who is also the coordinator of the high-level political committee said that the four major political powers would create conducive environment to ensure participation of all dissenting political parties in the upcoming CA polls.
On the occasion, Khanal said that the UML would not turn back from its earlier stance on threshold of ballot imposed on political parties for their representation in the CA under the proportional electoral system.

FATHER ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY MURDERING SON
Kathmandu, 18 May: The District Court has on Friday remanded into custody for investigation Ramlal Saha, 27, of Deuri VDC-3 in Saptari district, who was arrested on the charge of murdering his own infant son by poisoning, RSS reports from Rajbirag..
The single bench of District Judge Kiran Prasad Shiwakoti decided the same. As his younger wife Santoshi Kumari, 20, is at large, warrant is issued and his father Mahendra Prasad Saha has been ordered for release on general bail.
Saha had on May 14 killed by poisoning his 3-year-old son Naresh Kumar Saha, born from eldest wife. Mother America Devi Saha had filed a petition at the Area Police Office, Kalyanpur on May 21 and a case of murder and polygamy was filed on the basis of the petition.
America Devi was living in Deuri after Ramlal married Santoshi and his son Naresh was living with the father.
On May 14, Naresh was left at America Devi´s maternal home unconscious from poisoning and died while being taken to Darbhanga of India for treatment, according to America Devi
