33 PARTIES WITHDRAAW MONDAY’S NEPAL BANDH Kathmandu, 12 May: Thirty-three parties, including CPN-Maoist, Wiitjhdraw Monday’s Nepal Bandh. The parties are planning new protests demanding sacking of government and stop to updating voter’s list. The bandh was withdrawn citing Monday’s Rato Machindranath jatra. The chariot is being pulled from MOnday for its long journey to Jawalakhel. Nnnn EIGHT INMATE S BREAK JAIL IN ROLPA Kathmandu, 12 May: Eight inmates escaped by digging a tunnel overnight at Rolpa district prison as CDO and district police were not on duty.. The prisoners were serving sentences or possssing rhino horn, dacoity and rape. Nineteen policemen were deputed to the jail. Nnnn MADESH STRIKE PARALYZES LIFE Kathmandu, 12 May: A bandh called by NSP (Rajendra Mahoto) pressing 10 demands paralyzed life in the terai districts Sunday. The party is demanding announcement of firm date for assembly elections, citizenship certificates on mother’s identity, redrawing of electoral constituencies after a census in the south bordering India while pushing agricultural demands as well. nnnn
