The meeting of the two political parties held at UML Party headquarters in Balkhu on Thursday, urged other political parties not to violate the consensus and directive.
The meeting also urged the Unified CPN (Maoist) to agree to election laws immediately.
They showed stiff stance not to make candidate in the Constituent Assembly election to those who are convicted in criminal cases.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, NC Vice-president, Ram Chandra Paudel, said it is against the constitution to say CA election was possible as per the old election laws.
He said the meeting also demanded that all the political appointments made during the Dr. Baburam Bhattarai led government be scrapped and added they would inform about the decisions of the meeting to the Chairman of the Interim Election Council.
The NC, UML meeting organized with a view to making common view on the election has demanded to implement the earlier decision regarding the vote threshold, number of CA members, and others.
UML leader Raghuji Panta stressed the need of not delaying to declare the date for CA election and maintain the earlier decision for threshold of votes.
UML Chairman, Jhalanath Khanal, NC President, Sushil Koirala, among others attended the meeting.

ONE KILLED IN ROLPA
Kathmandu, 22 May: One person was killed and
eight others were injured when a trastor skidded off a road at
Mijhin-5 in Rolpa Wednesday.
The tractor was going to Sulichaur Bazaar from Libang.

NEW UNHCR CHIEF TAKES OVER IN NEPAL
Kathmandu, 22 May: Steven Craig Sanders, took charge Wednesday as Chief of UNHCR, the
UN Refugee Agency for refugees.
He presented his appointment letter to Minister for Foreign Affairs
Madhav Prasad Ghimire Wednesday.
Sanders served as the UNHCR Representative in Bangladesh before taking up the Nepal assignment.
He joined UNHCR in 1992.
