FORMER PM MARICHMAN SINGH SHRESTHA BEING RUSHED ABROAD FOR TREATMENT Kathmandu, 14 May: Preparation is underway to take former Prime Minister Marichman Singh Shrestha abroad for further treatment, RSS reports.. Shrestha (71) is undergoing treatment at Gyaneshwor-based Himal Nursing Home from April 30 after suffering from high blood pressure and pneumonia. Further treatment is necessary for him, said the Hospital. A group led by Dr. Dhruba Gaire is involved in the treatment of former Prime Minister Shrestha. According to Dr. Gaire, family consultation is underway to take Shrestha abroad as further treatment is necessary for him Nnnn ONE KILLED, THREE INJURED IN NAWA;PARASI ACCIDENT Kathmandu, 14 May:: A person was killed and three others were injured when two motorcycles with Indian number plates collided at Pratappur of Nawalparasi on Tuesday afternoon, RSS reports from Kawasoti. The deceased is identified as Devesh Kumar Tripathi, 45, of Maharajgunj, India. Basudev Yadav, Hanuman Gaud and Birendra Gaud of the same locality have been injured in the accident and they are underway treatment at the local hospital at Pratappur. Meanwhile, a seven-year-old child was killed after he was hit by a tractor at Amarapur-7 in the district. According the Area Police Office Nawalpur, a tractor (Na 3 Ta 1413) hit the child, leaving him seriously injured. He died in course of treatment at the Bharatpur Medical College. The accident took place on Monday night. Police have impounded the vehicle and arrested the driver. Nnnn KIDNEY SMUGGLING RACKET BUSTED IN KAVRE Kathmandu, 14 May:: Police have arrested eight people on the charge of their involvement in kidney smuggling racket. They were made public amid a programme in Dhulikhel on Tuesday, RSS reports from Banepa.. A special team of police arrested Puja Dahal and Krishna Bahadur Darji of Madanapur VDC 1, Nuwakot, Sachin Maharjan, of Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan City Ward No. 21, Sanulal Maharjan of Lalitpur district, Kumar Adhikari of Milangu of Tanahun district, Suman Shrestha of Kavre VDC and Rajan Darji of Panchkhal VDC, of Kavrepalanchowk district from different places in Kathmandu, Nuwakot, and Kavrepalanchowk districts during a month's period, said Superintendent of Police (SP), Kamal Gharti. Sachin is learnt to be a former Vice-president of the Free Students Union (FSU) in Patan Campus, Lalitpur. According to a police report kidney of around 150 people from Hokse of Kavrepalanchowk was smuggled while five persons have died due to the same reason. The kidney agents supply a kidney at Rs. 700,000 to one million rupees but they are learnt to provide Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 100,000 to the kidney donors, said SP Gharti. nnnn
