JUSTICE POST
Kathmandu, 27 May: Minister for Health and Population, Bidyadhar Mallik, has said that Chairman of the Interim Council of Ministers, Khil Raj Regmi , would not resign from the post of Chief Justice (CJ) even if the political parties call for it, RSS reports from Banepa..
Talking to media persons, Mallik, who arrived here for a three-day workshop seminar on National Population Policy that began at Dhulikhel from today, said demanding resignation of Regmi from the post of CJ is just a political rumor.
Minister Mallik said there was no possibility of Regmi's resignation from the post of CJ.
Stating that there was a provision in the constitution that CJ would be the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, he said declaring the date of the election to the Constituent Assembly (CA) is being delayed due to the four major political parties.
Minister Mallik said that date for the CA election would be declared soon if the four political parties forge consensus, and added that the government has already made all preparations to declare the date of CA.
