NEW SC ORDER TO REGISTER PIL Kathmandu, 10 May: The Supreme Court (SC) on Friday issued an order to register the Public Interest Litigation (PIL) that challenges the Constitutional Council recommendation to appoint controversial Lokman Singh Karki as the head of the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA)m RSS reports. A single bench of justice Ram Kumar Prasad Sah issued the order that allows the registration of the writ filed by advocate Om Prakash Aryal. SC Registrar Lohit Chandra Shah had earlier asked Aryal to come up with more documents and complete the due process before registering writ on Karki's recommendation. Justice Sah made this decision after primary hearing on an application registered against the return of earlier writ. The directive to this effect has been nullified since the order to return the application was made on the basis of the decision instead of writ-related application after the enactment of law. In the writ, the advocate has named Office of the President, Office of the Council of Ministers, Karki and the CIAA as the defendants.
