STUDENTS PROTEST KARKI APPOINTMNT
Kathmandu, 6 May:: Different student organizations have protested the recommendation made for former chief secretary Lokman Singh Karki for his appointment to the post of Chief of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), RSS reports.
The student organizations including the ALL Nepal National Free Students Union (ANNFSU), and ALL Nepal National Independent Students Union (ANNISU)-Revolutionary demanded that Karki, the guilty of people´s movement as well as proved guilty by CIAA, should not be appointed as chief of CIAA.
The student organizations chanted slogans in front of all the government campuses across the nation from 8:00 am to 10:00 am this morning to protest the decision. Chairman of the ANNFSU, Ratna Rajya Laxmi Campus, Netra Mainali, said that the decision of the Constitutional Council of making Karki as CIAA chief should be withdrawn immediately and also warned of launching stern agitation if the decision was not withdrawn.

BANDH CONTINUES IN EAST
Kathmandu, 6 May: Normal life in the east has been affected for the third consecutive day, today [Monday], due to banda called by
Sanghiya Limbuwan Rajya Parishad, RSS reports from Jhapa..
The Life in the east of Arun-Saptakoshi has been badly affected due to the banda called by the Parishad by demanding that the citizenship distribution, and voters list collection process be stopped until the agitating fringe parties´ demands regarding the Constituent Assembly elections were addressed.
The life in eastern districts Jhapa, Ilam, Panchthar, Taplejung, Dhankuta, Sankhuwasahba, and Terathum were badly affected while there was nominal impact in Morang and Sunsari.
People, who had to work for two square meals a day, and passengers heading to different destinations were hit hard. The banda also affected the educational, market, and industrial activities in the districts.
Meanwhile, the banda enforcers torched two motorcycles in Jhapa and pelted stones on the passenger bus in different different places, according to the District Police Office, Jhapa.
Police arrested 11 people in connection to the incidents.

15 INJURED IN RAUTAHAT ACCIDENT
Kathmandu, 6 May:: More than 15 people were injured in a road accident at Chandranigahapur-Bagmati road section in
Rautahat district this morning [Monday], RSS reports from Rautahat.
The accident took place when a bus (Na 3 Kha 2933) was heading towards Janakpur from Birgunj.Traffic Police Inspector Gopal Giri said that the accident took place due to over speed.
Critically injured have been sent to Birgunj and Bharatpur for treatment and others are undergoing treatment at Chandranigahapur hospital, said police.
