Kathmandu, 9 May:: The CPN-UML Standing Committee meeting on Thursday designated Subas Nembang, Keshav Lal Shrestha and Sanu Shrestha as the full central members of the party, RSS reports from Kirtipur..
The meeting of the standing committee held at the party office today took a decision to that end, according to chief of the UML publicity department Pradip Gyawali.
The standing committee also designated Rajendra Rai, Sherdhan Rai, Sher Bahadur Tamang, Ganesh Kambang, Chandra Bahadur Shahi, Ek Bahadur Rana, Ram Dayal Mandal and Gyan Bahadur Bhujel as alternative central members.
The standing committee meeting was followed by the central committee meeting of the party.

Speaking at an interaction on 'present politics and women's agenda' organized by Sakriyata, an organization of women media workers here on Thursday, he further made it clear that the decision was taken following week-long deliberations on the same among the senior leaders of all the four parties. "However, for the same signatory party to express dissent on its own decision is a political paradox, and the weakness and helplessness of that party's leadership,” he said.
Chairman Dahal said all the four parties in the political mechanism are responsible for this decision taken to save the country from a constitutional crisis.
Urging one and all to not have any doubts over the present government that was formed through political consensus, Dahal emphasized on the need for all to work together building an atmosphere conducive to elections.
On the occasion, the UCPN-Maoist Chairman said that political commitments alone cannot bring changes to women's situation unless the conservative laws and regulations concerning women and their rights are not reformed.
Deliberations to ensure 33 percent representation of women in the coming CA elections have already begun in the political mechanism and in party meetings, he said.
Also speaking at the programme, UML Vice-chair Bidhya Devi Bhandari said 33 per cent women's participation would be first ensured in the decision making level of all the political parties.
One needs to reach to the root causes of violence against women and infringement of their rights, she added.
Nepali Congress leader Sujata Koirala suggested allocation of proportionate seats for women in the constituent assembly, so as to establish their rights in the new constitution.
National Women's Commission Chair Sheikh Chandtara expressed the view that women-friendly electoral system and reserved constituencies for women were a must to ensure women's participation through the coming elections.
Member of National Human Rights Commission Gauri Pradhan, Advocate Meera Dhungana, President of NGO Federation of Nepal Sharmila Karki and other speakers also stressed the need of ensuring at least 33 per cent women's representation in the new Constituent Assembly.

Kathmandu, 9 May:: President Ram Baran Yadav on Thursday attended a tea reception hosted by the Supreme Court on the occasion of Law Day, RSS reports. .
