SUSHIL KOIRALA CHINESE AMBASSADOR MEET Kathmandu, 22 May: NC President and Chinese Ambassador Wu Chuntai held discussions Wednesday morning on current issues. Proposed constituent assembly elections were discussed. Koirala told the ambassador discussions for a vote were being held with other parties. The NC boss has proposed expansion of the four-party high-level political mechanism to include CPN Maoist and MJFN of Upendra Yadav to create an environment for a vote. He argues 33 parties aren’t opposed to assembly elections but have only set conditions for a vote. nnnn RPP CENTRAL COMMITTEE ELECTION RESULTS TO BE OUT LATER WEDNESDAY Kathmandu, 22 May: Results of intra-party vote for central committee membership of a united RPP should be available later Wednesday, Spokesman Kiran Giri said. Parshuram Khapung and Sushil Thapa, son of Surya Bahadur Thapa,are leading in vote counting that started Tuesday. Nnnn PASSENGERS STRANDED IN SAPTARI WHERE FORMER LAWMAKER WAS MURDERED Kathmandu, 22 May: Passengers are stranded Wednesday at Kalayanpur in Saptari where popular independent former lawmaker Sadrul Miya Haq was stabbed to death while asleep Monday night. Four hundred vehicles are stranded on Mahendra highway In the district where protests against the murder are swelling. Haq’s supporters are demanding inclusion of a Muslim in a three-member probe body headed by a senior police officer. The former lawmaker’s body has been taken to a Dharam hospital for postmortem. Slipper of suspected assassin and likely murder weapon have been recovered by police. near the murder site at a petrol pump owned by Haq. No arrests have been made so far. nnnn. FURTHER DETAILS OF SUSHIL KOIRALA HOUSE MOVE . Kathmandu, 22 May: NC sources said Sushil Koirala is moving out of his present rented house citing austerity reasons. But there could be other reasons. “:Sushil Da is going to Ilam Wednesday. He’ll move to doctor sahib’s [Shashanka’s }house after returning from there,” Birendra Dahal told Annapurna Post. Nnnn KAMAL THAPA RULES OUT UNIFICATION WITH RPP Kathmandu, 22 May: RPP-Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa has ruled out inification with RPP/ “The possibility has ended. Unity between two parties isn’t possible now. “Fundamental differences persist on monarchy, secularism and federalism. “Why form another form another party if it is to be like the present RPP?” RPP-Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa asked. in Annapurna Post. “RPP-Nepal is attempting to be a democratic party.
