UML SENDING TEAMS TO CONSTITUENCIES TO ASESS IOTS CHANCES Kathmandu, 22 May: UML is conducting a month-long survey of its strength ahead of second constituent assembly elections to ascertain its strength is all 240 electoral constituencies. Central teams being sent to the constituencies will collect suggestions on delniation of constituencies after the third largest party agreed to form a joint commission to re-draw constituencies following results of a national census that found population in terai and urban centers like the Valley has increased/ Each tam will consist of 20 members. The party is debating whether it should form an alliance with other like-minded parties. Nnnn 16 FORMER MAOIST COMBATANTS BEING APPOINTED MAJORS OF NEPAL ARMY Kathmandu, 22 May: Nepal Army has decided to appoint 16 former Maoist combatants who have opted to join Nepal Army and completed training courses as majors in the state army. Seventy former combatants are being appointed officers, including colonel. nnnn
