UPDATE ELECTION DATE WITHIN THREE DAYS Kathmandu, 26 May: Government will announce official date for second constituent election within three days. An agreement to announce date was reached after talks between Chairman Khil Raj Regmi and representatives of high-level political committee of three major parties and Madeshi morcha. Maoist Chairman Prachanda said delay is announcement of vote would benefit ‘regressive’ forces. The high-level body meets Monday to review Sunday’s agreement. Khanal asked Mahoto to call off his hunger strike pressing 10 demands for Madesh, including announcing date for assembly election.
